A closer relationship with customers and increased sales through digitalization. Kvadrat’s digital platform offers flexible access, relevant services, e-commerce, and easy self-service.

Challenge
Kvadrat caters to multiple segments, including architects, dealers, and private customers. The new solution is primarily designed for Kvadrat’s dealers, which include furniture retailers such as Paustian and Illums Bolighus, as well as smaller upholsterers and curtain dealers. Until now, orders have been placed through manual processes like phone and email. There was therefore great potential in launching not just an e-commerce solution, but a digital service platform that gives customers easy access to product knowledge and makes it simple to place orders and request fabric samples. The platform is a powerful tool that equips dealers with the necessary knowledge and strengthens customer dialogue.

Solution
With the new digital channel, Kvadrat’s retailers have gained an inspiring and easily accessible overview of the product range, along with the necessary technical insights into materials, dimensions, specifications, and certificates. This information is particularly valuable for responding to tenders and similar tasks.
B2C customers can browse the catalog and be inspired by the latest collections, while B2B customers, after logging in, gain access to e-commerce and self-service with customer-specific assortments and prices.
Kvadrat’s product range covers upholstery fabrics, rugs, and curtains, but the required information and specifications vary greatly, as does the way the different textiles must be ordered (by the meter, custom dimensions, or as pieces). This places high demands on the solution and the product display, which adapts depending on product type and ordering method.
The new solution includes a range of features designed to benefit both customers and the business:

Direct-to-consumer
Hear about the journey Kvadrat has embarked on to establish a direct-to-consumer business unit, with a clear vision to create value for both end consumers and existing channels and customers.
Results
The Optimizely platform provides Kvadrat with a strong foundation to scale the business into new markets, further strengthening their market leadership. The solution has just been launched in Denmark, with Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Benelux, Italy, and Japan set to follow from 2018 onwards. The platform is also fully responsive, ensuring optimal performance on both desktop and mobile devices.
In addition to boosting customer loyalty and sales, the solution streamlines the entire sales process from manufacturer, through the retailer, to the end customer. It transforms a previously manual sales process, delivering significant efficiency gains.
Vertica has led the development and implementation of the solution, while Magnetix provided the graphic design.
