Background

From the very beginning, Molslinjen’s bus concept, Kombardo Expressen, has been well received, with passenger numbers steadily increasing. Today, Kombardo Expressen offers three regular bus routes from Aalborg, Aarhus, and Rønne to Copenhagen. Along the way, passengers have the opportunity to stretch their legs on Molslinjen’s ferries, sailing across the Kattegat and the Baltic Sea.

With more than 275 weekly departures and thousands of passengers, it needs to be easy to board one of the express buses. It was therefore natural to launch an app to make it even easier for customers to book and plan their journey.

At the same time, Molslinjen has had great success with their existing app for booking ferry tickets. On the Aarhus–Odden route, as many as 33% of tickets are sold through the app, confirming the potential of developing a dedicated app for Kombardo Expressen.

A unified digital universe

The app is built on the same codebase as Molslinjen’s other digital channels, with integration to the same booking system. This ensures a unified technical solution across all channels.
Even though the app has only just been launched, Molslinjen has already received positive customer feedback. Users report that the app is user-friendly and shortens the booking time.

The app is currently available for iOS, with an Android version coming later this year.

Download the new app in the App Store now, and you’ll be ready for departure!
