
Brief
Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark—which in Denmark operates brands such as Brødrene Dahl and Øland—approached us with high ambitions after their rapid growth had outpaced their existing PIM solution.
Following collaboration with Vertica, the MDM system Stibo Systems has become the central hub that now ensures fast product data flow between Saint-Gobain’s ERP and Brødrene Dahl’s systems, while also supporting smooth processes as Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark grows and pursues new goals.


Objective
Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark sought a solution that was both future-proof and scalable, capable of reducing time-to-market for products and product changes, and eliminating knowledge silos to create a central hub for product data.
The solution needed to support their digital development and the ambitious goals Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark has set for their business.
Together with Vertica, they undertook a process that thoroughly examined which digital direction and solution could best support the growth they were experiencing as one of Denmark’s leading distributors of high-quality products and solutions for the construction and building sector.
During this process, we jointly developed a roadmap based on current processes, future needs, business objectives, and potential optimisations. The roadmap was divided into phases to ensure that the chosen system would be closely aligned with Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark’s business strategy.
The choice fell on the MDM system Stibo Systems.

Results
As a result of implementing Stibo Systems MDM, Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark was able to replace their existing in-house product data catalogue, which was approaching end-of-life, and achieve their goal of bringing their brands’ products to market faster. They also secured more efficient processes and workflows, successfully centralising their data into a single source of truth.
Beyond everyday optimisations, Stibo Systems MDM has supported Saint-Gobain Distribution Denmark on new projects.
After a major integration and migration process transferring over 170,000 product records from the previous MDM system to Stibo Systems, the platform faced its first major challenge.
Saint-Gobain acquired the large Danish electrical wholesaler Jens A and, over a single weekend, successfully went live with products representing a 50% increase in their existing assortment—a launch requiring enormous capacity and the right system: Stibo Systems MDM.
