The Target Group
Hørkram offers a broad product range with over 32,000 unique items and serves a diverse customer base, from restaurants, hotels, and hospitals to institutions, as well as local butchers and cafés. This places high demands on Hørkram’s webshop, which must provide all customer types with clear and intuitive self-service, while handling an annual turnover of DKK 4.8 billion.
The company has long focused on product quality, assortment, logistics, and customer service, but aimed to take the next step by delivering a modern e-commerce solution to enhance user-friendliness and maintain competitiveness. The goal was to create a new webshop that simultaneously reflects Hørkram’s identity and meets customer needs.

Navigation
The shopping experience has been enhanced through an updated, user-friendly design, optimized search functionality, and improved performance. The navigation structure is supported by images, allowing customers to always see their location on the site and which other menu options are available. At the same time, placing an order is quick and easy for customers who already know what they want. This is important, as Hørkram’s customers are busy and often have shopping as just one of many daily tasks.

Commercialisation
The new webshop offers multiple opportunities for upselling and targeted sales. In collaboration with Vertica, Hørkram actively develops sales-boosting features, with several already launched and more on the way. This includes product assortment exposure, customer retention, and supplier-driven sales.
Results
After implementing the new solution, Hørkram achieved record-breaking revenues, surpassing 4.8 billion DKK by the end of 2024. The platform now accounts for 94% of total sales — an exceptionally high share in the B2B sector. This demonstrates that the right solution can drive all customer types to purchase online.
The new setup also supports independent webshops for Hørkram’s other markets, such as Sweden and Poland, enabling the company to expand and strengthen its position in a competitive industry both domestically and internationally.
