Our short answer? Absolutely not.
We work with ambitious leaders in e-commerce, where the solution is the beating heart of the business. It’s woven into sales, marketing, production, warehousing, and logistics - and it’s mission-critical.
When systems go down, it can mean:
– no payments, either online or in-store
– no new supplier orders
– no access to catalogs, sales follow-ups, or promotions
– no delivery forecasts or shipments
– no customer service around product data, returns, or history
And because most of our clients operate internationally, their solutions must perform across many markets, each with unique business rules. That brings even more data, more touchpoints - and far more complexity.
This is why Vertica builds from scratch, delivering solutions tailored to fit our clients’ business at every level.
At Vertica, you’ll join a dedicated team and work with a single client - giving you the time and freedom to go deep into the solution and take part in every decision. Some of our client partnerships have lasted 5, 10, even 20 years. After so much collaboration, many of them see us as colleagues rather than consultants.
Project sizes vary, but a new e-commerce solution typically runs 4,000-10,000 hours. Once delivered, it moves to our in-house service team, who handle operations - so you can focus on creating the next project.
Each team typically has 6–8 members: a mix of backend and frontend developers, UX designers, testers, and a project manager. With our non-hierarchical structure, it’s the team, not a chain of managers, that makes the decisions on technologies, priorities, and ways of working. That means your ideas go straight to the client, and you have a strong say in shaping your workday - both now and in the long run.

Technology is our most vital tool. It fuels your professional development, your everyday joy at work, the conversations with our clients, the innovation behind our solutions, and the quality of every delivery.
